Not the cleanest camp but not the worst either. Jack&kill when they get full but they try to keep it separate bathrooms when they can. The edi kitchen is a nice feature. You can order off a menu and its made fresh for you.

Food is awful, THERE IS SO ORDERING FOOD ANYWHERE BUT CENTRAL CAMP. Don't think for a second you'll get a half decent meal in east or west or wherever else. Wapasu West has single beds, pillow and a half wide at most, right up against a wall. Takes 2 or more hours to get a room at check in. For East and west. If you go to the wrong camp, they send you back to the other camp to wait to check in there. They also run out of lunch if you aren't early they only serve sandwiches and a tiny amount of Leftovers and junk food. You'll be scrounging for terrible sandwiches if you aren't very early. Breakfast is always the same, naturally, supper changes but much of it is just poor variations of yesterday's meal. Don't know why they can't get it together. Avoid this place. East camp has huge beds for some reason. Try for there. But they have even less lunch to go around.

Over time most rooms I've had were gross. The rooms need to be thoroughly cleaned. The walls and floors are disgusting. The washrooms always have hair on the shower walls and towels might not be clean. And don't get me started on the beds. Look at the picture attached. Can you sleep next to that? Yuck!

Pretty decent for having so many people in one camp. My guess is 3000 during normal operations and 8000 during outages. There are hardworking cleaners running around all day wiping down everything. The kitchen staff work hard and have always been very friendly, whether it is the chef or the lady who loads the cutlery and refills the milk, they've always been kind and friendly.

2 types if toilets in the rooms either clog every flush or have an area where the poo lands but it doesn't come off no matter how many times you flush, with no toilet bowl scrubber available. If you're sharing a bathroom with someone you may feel obligated to stick your hand in the bowl and hit this spot with toilet paper. Not ideal. Easy solution- provide a toilet bowl scrubber.

Half the laundry machines didn't work and I had one that squeaked so loudly that someone turned it off which caused me to have to stay up until 1am finishing laundry and I get up at 4. Solution- have maintenance check them and repair the bad ones.

I wish one could pack their unfinished dinner for lunch though. I've no complaints on the food, except for the occasionally fatty meat serving.

Rooms are not cleaned well. First time here 6 months ago there were several cockroaches in my room. After I complained the lady at guest services was a jerk and tried not to give me another room. I had to fight to get it.

Other than these, I had a pretty decent experience at Wapasu. Clean. Good food. Usually you get your own bathroom (Jack and Jill but they won't book a neighbor if they don't have too).

Edit: second time back. Still 2 people at the desk. 3 hour wait. Announced they are closing dinner service at 9 when we arrived at 8.

This camp is so awful. Food is mostly bad. Once in a while it'll be ok. They don't allow hats in the dining rooms which make no sense whatsoever. And some of the kitchen staff are extremely rude.

Biggest complaint is the power hungry, grumpy ladies at the front desk. If they see you're frustrated, you'll be treated even worse. Don't show weakness! Submit! Pack a lunch if there is a line up to check in, check out or any front desk inquiries as you could be a while. Have had some friendly front desk guys but the older ladies seem to hate life...and you. The 2 that I have had experiences with really shouldn't be in customer service. I honestly rarely complain but have never felt so small...they don't care if you've been up 20 hours and your room key doesn't work and you've just spent 45 minutes in line trying to get into your room...no sympathy.
